Ana’s First Escape When COVID-19 Is Over

Ana, what will be your escape once everything is over?

I am very lucky to live in Aragon, where the Pyrenees are located. So, this natural paradise is usually my escape to recharge batteries and unwind.

Now, during the lockdown, I can’t stop thinking of the day that I am able to get back there again: to hike the green lush mountains and valleys, hear the babble of the waterfalls and the rivers, admire the stunning lookouts, take a deep breath of fresh air, stroll around the streets of its charming villages…

So, when all this is over, as usual, Aragon Pyrenees will be my first escape

Every night I dream of myself arriving in my favorite place on earth: Lanuza Lake. To me, there is nothing better than sitting there and admiring the magnificence of the mountains, tree-covered at their feet and rocky at their top, reflected on the pristine water of the lake, and with the fairy tale village of Lanuza on the side.

I can’t wait to call my friend Anabel, who owns a family run boutique 4-star hotel, El Privilegio de Tena, where she and her family make guests like me feel at home. I will book a room with a view and a very needed spa experience. I can’t wait to taste their mouthwatering “migas” again too!

I will also call my friend Sergio, our usual photographer guide who knows the mountains and the picturesque spots like the back of his hand. I am dreaming of hiking to the beautiful tarn of Anayet and take some memorable family professional shots there.

This virus is said to be a milestone in our lives, and so, being a travelling family, our first family escape will also be a milestone in our lives and want to keep tangible memories of it.

And finally, I can’t wait to call my friend Raul, who, with his jeep, will drive us along a winding steep path up to the top of Ordesa National Park, where we will hike to some of the best natural lookouts in the world

Ana, why did you choose this place?

There are three main reasons:

  • Because it is my favorite place in the world and it is just a stone’s throw from my home. Well, indeed, although a few miles away, it is also my homeland.
  • Because of safety, very important at this stage. This area is unspoiled, not crowded at all…what we usually call a hidden gem, one of those off-the-beaten-track destinations that we love taking our clients to and that they fall in love with.

Boutique hotels where you have the guarantee that everything is in perfect condition because it gets personalized, untouched tiny villages, vast extensions of natural landscapes…This is why we and our clients love it!

  • Because Anabel, Sergio and Raul and their small family-run local businesses, like me, need to be supported at this time. Now, more than ever, we need to support and promote the sustainable tourism and social responsibility that we are proud to offer to our clients.
