Alhama De Aragon Has A Hidden Secret

Spa, Wellness, Aragon, Spain

When you search for this village on Google Earth, there’s nothing appealing which invites you to go there. However, it has a hidden secret: underground natural hot springs, which make the village hold the largest thermal lake in Europe.

It was conceived in 1863 as a place for luxury and silent leisure. This is why it still preserves extremely refined Versailles gardens and modernist-style buildings. Its bar and terrace remind of the “cafés” where enlightened used to gather, piano music playing, extremely polite waiters…

But the reason to come here is not to have a literary conversation, but to enjoy the largest thermal lake in Europe, which is surrounded by bridges, trees and gardens. It has even two small islands in the middle which preserve the old dressing rooms, still used today.

The experience in the lake consists of water at 32ºC all the year round, fish feeding themselves with human skin impurities, and a waterfall which will make your back recover the agility of a child’s.

The best of this spa is that it is adapted to all types of public: it has activities for children, such as big bubble on the water, zip wire, archery…

Regarding hotels, it is also adapted to all budgets, as it has two hotels of 3 and 4 stars, apart from the grand luxury hotel which was first built.

Of course, there are special treatments, massage, etc. available for those who require this type of services.

Apart from enjoying the full-equipped facilities of Alhama’s spa, we will also offer a full range of activities and tours to do while staying in this health paradise.
